Increasing Emotional Intelligence Group Training
“Emotional Intelligence” as defined by Daniel Goleman,
Ph.D. psychologist, is “the capacity for recognizing our own
feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for
managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships.”
Emotional Intelligence can be improved! People who are highly skilled
intellectually and/or technically may lack satisfying relationships
or healthy self-esteem. Unless there are psychological issues that
require psychotherapy, increasing Emotional Intelligence will have
a significant positive impact on the quality of one’s relationships
and life.
Our focus and practice will include strategies that promote Emotional
Intelligence such as: recognizing and naming emotions, understanding
the causes of feelings, and listening for the “lessons”
in feelings.
